Notes from the Chef, January 4, 2012: Simply Grilled

Tonight’s dinner is a simply grilled menu full of savory tastes. For your entrée, feast on grilled tri-tip steak with grilled leek tapenade, or a turnover with grilled portabella mushrooms, zucchini, and red pepper. On the side, there’s a delicious potato gratin and grilled marinated cauliflower. The leek is one of the national emblems of Wales, and be found anywhere from ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian archeological sites to Shakespeare to holographic Japanese pop star Hatsune Miku.
