Notes from the Chef, December 21, 2011: Happy Hanukkah!
Happy Hanukkah! The festival of lights began last night at sundown, and will continue for seven more nights with a lighting of the Hanukkah candles, being with family…and eating delicious food! Our lunch today is a delectable slow-cooked all-natural beef brisket with a side of roasted acorn squash, and, of course, latkes! The oil used for cooking the latkes is symbolic of the miraculous oil that kept the Second Temple of ancient Israel lit for eight nights instead of only one. We hope you have a marvelous holiday and enjoy your meal!
